Optically Clean® Technology
Optically Clean Technology is a process developed by SaltWorks where an optical sorter inspects every single grain of salt for discoloration or unwanted foreign material. Before the optical sorter, we also run our Pure Ocean salt through a rigorous combination of sifters, aspirators, rare-earth magnets and metal detectors. In addition to improved food safety, this process results in delicious salt that looks as good as it tastes.

As a member of Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), we are committed to ethical sourcing. We've carefully built a network of FDA-registered suppliers committed to caring for the environment. We comply with the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010, meaning our suppliers must provide fair wages for all employees and refrain from using child and slave labor, from our partner salt harvesters to our employees in Woodinville.

Our exclusive DirectShip® program provides transparent freight coordination. Waste is reduced because each container load is full of only clean salt, meaning no processing loss. As insurance, SaltWorks also keeps over six million pounds of salt at our Woodinville warehouse to ship immediately. Should an emergency arrive, our salt can also be shipped from our trusted global partners or our strategically placed 3PL locations.
